"Romantic Stay in Sonoma"

"The hotel was perfect for what we needed - easy walking access to Sonoma town center, continental breakfast (actually it was much more than a continental!). The garden in the middle is very peaceful and the pool and the hot tub are perfect after a long day of wine tasting. The staff is very helpful and they were even able to get us into our room extra early! Can't say enough good things about the hotel. Its at the bottom of wine country so you can work your way up!"

"Great Place to Stay"

"Stayed here June 18,19 2012. Excellent staff, clean rooms, pool area excellent also, nice continental breakfast and very accessible to wine country. We paid the walk in rate of $129. Met all our expectations.
Note the farmers market on Tuesday night at town plaza. Great gathering of food and other vendors with music. Remained me of a giant picnic.
Highlight of our trip was a tour of several wineries with Platyus Tours. We were picked up at the Inn. Tour guide provided snacks and water for us. Don't miss this tour, our tour guide Peter was very well versed in the history of Sonoma and wine making at these vineyards. Ask for Peter, you will get an excellent tour.
The beauty of this area with vineyards everywhere on the hills is something we will never forget. Hope to comeback someday. People very friendly everywhere we traveled .
P.S.
If you rent a car be sure to get a gps Garmin. We took a night trip to Napa for a late dinner. The Garmin was indispensable as the roads were quite dark. Will get one in future on every trip we drive.

"So Glad to Stumble onto THIS one..."

"Was planning on forging ahead through wine country north of Sonoma when my last camera battery died. Then seeing all the activity at the town square, and realizing it was already after 5PM, I called another hotel which was already fully booked for Sunday night. So, I pulled out the AAA tour book and called El Pueblo Inn. Shane answered, and from there on was extremely helpful, telling me how to get there, then upon arrival giving a tour of all three levels of rooms available.

I chose the California Bungalow style (mid-level) and really enjoyed it. Room was large and the king bed and pillows were just perfect. I liked having an outdoor patio, the ceiling fan above and a gas fireplace for when it cooled down. And speaking of cooling down after a day of wine country touring, a swim in their excellent pool was just heavenly, like the chilled Viognier from the day's travels afterwards.
The pool area was quite beautiful with many tropical flowers and a nice tall palm. A separate covered cabana area was nice, along with ample sunny areas around the pool. Hot tub was nice, too. The ONLY drawback, if I must report one, is that just on the other side of the fence is Route 12, but fountains helped diminish the traffic noise. I could hear the traffic in the room if window and sliding door were opened ( both had screens, FYI). But when closed, it was just fine.
This Spanish Hacienda feel was really delightful, with meandering paths (not straight and cold like many hotels) through the lushly planted property. I seriously considered staying a second day/ night in this beautiful and very affordable spot, especially after being surprised by the continental breakfast that had varied fresh artisan- style pastries, and a selection of fruits that even included several whole mangoes for those wanting a tropical flair. And if you like HARD biscotti, make sure you sample the complimentary traditional almond ones, two in a pack. I rarely find them this hard and crunchy and was " bad" by taking more than one...
I hope to return some day soon, next time with my partner in tow! "
