In 1858, Jacob Gundlach purchased 400 acres in the Sonoma Valley that was the beginning of the oldest continuously owned family winery in California. Buena Vista Winery. Buena Vista is California's oldest premium winery and was founded in 1857 by Count Agoston Haraszthy who brought the wine industry to California.
