2026 Film Festival:  March 25th-29th

The Sonoma International Film Festival (SIFF) is an annual five-day event in Sonoma, that blends independent global cinema with the region's famous culinary and wine culture.  Founded in 1997, it is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to supporting independent filmmakers and providing visual arts education to local students.

 

Sonoma's Tuesday Night Market:  Tuesday's May through September  

The Sonoma Tuesday Night Market is a seasonal, community-focused farmers' market held weekly at the historic Sonoma Plaza.  The event transforms the downtown plaza into a lively gathering spot featuring fresh local goods, food, drink & entertainment.

 

BottleRock Napa Valley: May 22nd-24th, 2026

BottleRock is an annual three-day festival held during Memoria Day weekend that combines high-profile live music with world-class wine, craft beer, and gourmet food.  Often described as "Woodstock done Napa style", it transforms the Napa Valley Expo into a luxury celebration of culture and entertainment.

 

2026 Toyota/Save Mart Series:  June 26th-28th

The Toyota/Save Mart 350 is an annual 218.9-mile NASCAR Cup Series stock car race held at Sonoma Raceway.  It is one of the few road course events on the NASCAR schedule, known for it's challenging 12-turn layout and significant elevation changes.

 

Sonoma's 4th of July Celebration:  July 4th

The Sonoma 4th of July Celebration is widely considered one of the best small-town Independence Day events in the United States.  Hosted by the Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters Association, this all-day "hometown" festival centers around the historic Sonoma Plaza.

 

Out in the Vineyard presents Gay Wine Weekend:  July 17th-19th, 2026

Gay Wine Weekend is an annual three-day LGBTQ+ festival in Sonoma County that celebrates the region's world-class wine, food and culture.  Produced by Out In The Vineyard, the event brings together the LGBTQ+ community and allies for a mix of high-end culinary experiences and lively social gatherings.

 

Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon:  July 25th-26th, 2026

The Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon is a popular 13.1-mile point-to-point race held annually in July.  It is widly recognized for it's scenic route through California's premier wine regions and it's festive, party-like atmosphere, often being ranked among the best half marathons in the United States.

 

Sonoma's Vintage & Harvest Festival:  September 24th-27th

The Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival is California's oldest running festival, a community-driven celebration of the grape harvest and Sonoma Valley's agricultural heritage.  Established in 1897, the festival takes place annually in late September at the historic Sonoma Plaza.

 

November's Lighting of the Sonoma Plaza:  November 2026 TBD

The Lighting of the Plaza is an annual spectacle and heartwarming small town holiday festival. Thousands of lights will be illuminated around the historic plaza, including City Hall, while local dancers and musicians perform for the crowd. Visitors can also eat, shop and taste around the Plaza.  The beloved annual community event marks the official start of the holiday season, and transforms the 8-acre historic park into a "sparkling nightly spectacle".

 

The 4th Annual Sonoma Valley Lighted Tractor Parade: November 28th, 2026

The Sonoma Valley Lighted Tractor Parade is a festive holiday event that celebrates the region's deep agricultural roots.  Held annually in late November, the parade features a procession of vineyard tractors, vintage farm trucks, and grape harvesters - all elaborately decorated with thousands of twinkling holiday lights and festive displays.
