Napa Valley Wineries

Considered one of the top viticulture areas in America, the region is synonymous with fine wine. Winemaking in the valley dates back to the 1800's, and several of those pioneering wineries still operate today.

When is the best time to visit Napa Valley wineries?

Summer might seem like the best time to visit Napa Valley but do so only if you like crowds. A better time is fall, specifically September and October. Not only will you find cooler temperatures, but it's also crush time, when grapes are harvested and ready for production. Spring is also a good time, as crowds are smaller and rates for accommodations and other attractions are cheaper. By bus, limo, van, on foot, or bike, knowledgeable guides will take you through Napa Valley's wineries and historical sites.

Where should I go wine tasting in the Napa Valley?

Within the Napa Valley, there are several different micro-regions called appellations. Each is just different enough from its neighbor to produce distinguishing characteristics to the grapes grown there. These areas are also designated American Viticulture Areas, or AVAs.
